Treatment & Counseling Approaches for Co-Occurring Disorders
Introduces practical strategies for working with clients experiencing both mental health and substance use concerns. Participants will explore integrated treatment models, stage-based interventions, and recovery-oriented approaches that support client engagement, motivation, and long-term wellness.
Equity in Practice: Ethics, Identity & Inclusive Behavioral Health Care
Explores the ethical foundations of equitable care and examines how provider bias, systemic inequities, and identity-based differences shape the behavioral health experience. The first half of the session focuses on ethics, cultural humility, and provider responsibilities in promoting fair, responsive care. The second half applies these principles to real-world scenarios across developmental stages, gender, and cultural identity—highlighting strategies for working effectively with diverse populations across the lifespan.
Clinical Supervision: Ethics, Growth & Sustainable Practice
Offers a comprehensive foundation for effective clinical supervision in behavioral health settings. Participants will explore supervisory roles and models, learn how to navigate the overlap between clinical and administrative supervision, and develop strategies to support supervisee skill development, documentation, and ethical decision-making. The session also emphasizes self-care as a supervisory responsibility—modeling sustainability and wellness in the workplace.
Exploring the Behavioral Health Needs of Women
Centers the behavioral health experiences of women, with attention to concerns that may be less commonly addressed in traditional clinical settings. Participants will examine how gendered roles, systemic influences, and internalized expectations shape emotional well-being, symptom presentation in mental illness, substance use and other addictive behaviors, and treatment engagement. The session also explores maternal behavioral health concerns, with an emphasis on increasing clinical awareness and responsiveness to the complexity of women’s lived experiences.
